Following its premiere in Tokyo Innovation Base and screenings at the Shift Cinema Toronto and Portobello film festival in London, Bio Aspen is pleased to present 狭間 Hazama for an intimate private screening in Stockholm on September 24.
Endorsed by the Swedish non-profit Suicide Zero for its focus on suicide prevention, the film follows Thea, a young woman in Japan who returns to her homeland in the remote woods of Härjedalen after a traumatic event. There, a life-threatening winter accident leaves her stranded in hazama—the Japanese concept of the in-between space—forcing her to confront the ultimate choice between life and death. Written, produced, and directed by Victor Moreno.
